SPACE THEME PARTY

Mankind’s fascination with space stretches back many thousands of years, yet in terms of time, we’ve only recently begun to explore the possibilities of what may exist beyond the stars. Conjured by the makers of film and television, much of what we perceive is based on fantasy rather than fact. Having said that, many of Gerry Andersen’s futuristic predictions in the hit TV series Thunderbirds have become reality years later. Theme parties are about fantasy and fun and we hope our interpretation of space is one you will want to explore further.

PROPS AND VENUE DECORATION

Guests can make their entrance via a starcloth walkway or through a unique and very disorientating time tunnel that revolves as you transcend into the next dimension. Inside, fibre optic starcloth plays a major role in transforming the venue and creates the blank canvas upon which the theme can be built. Thereafter we dress the theme with a variety of props including, giant UV reactive planets, comets, satellites and the odd rocket or two. We have a selection of large UV art canvasses depicting intergalactic scenes, while bubble tubes create light and movement in dark corners. Ducting tubes, barrels of toxic waste, oxygen cylinders and control panels all combine to create a fun and futuristic atmosphere for your occasion. We can also outsource some original film prop including Star Wars Storm Troopers, the ABC robot from Judge Dredd & the Alien Queen.

HOSPITALITY

Your guests arrive and are met by some of the strangest creatures from the known universe. A menagerie of highly polished robots, and aesthetically challenged intergalactic voyagers apply their unique mix’n’mingle performances to help your time travellers absorb their new environment. Unique pre-dinner cocktails are served in a test tubes presented by lab assistants in white coats. Silver lame table covers shimmer under the lights, while plasma ball table centres generate much curiosity. The experiences yet to come can only be, out of this world.

INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT

There's much to choose from so whether you fancy arcade games or a more hands on approach, there's something for everyone. Star Wars Trilogy is an excelent arcade simulator allowing you to interact as though you were in the film itself. Graphics are suberb and relayed via a large 52" video screen. The Viper is a similar concept to that found in many theme parks but is small enough to fit into most venues. Clever hydraulics and video takes two people off on a roller coaster style ride through space without ever actually leaving the spot they started from. Laser tag arenas are ideal for large events and most can handle up to 20+ players in a session. While technological break throughs in 3D graphics make todays Virtual Reality a memorable experience. Simulator prices start from around £300.00 and range up to around £1200.00 for a large laser tag arena. Prices may vary according to operating times and distance. LIVE ENTERTAINMENT

Fly me to the moon and let me play among the stars, let me see what spring is like on Jupiter and Mars. The James Duke Band is an excellent choice to make the evening fly. They are a versatile seven piece that can perform sets of 2 x 45 mins or up to 1 ½ hours straight through. Front man and vocalist Tino, has an excellent interactive repertoire that involves the audience without overwhelming them, while their lively and energetic set contains a selection of songs spanning five decades of popular music. A demo CD is available on application. Should you wish, we can provide the equipment for your own DJ or arrange a professional presenter for pre-recorded music. LIGHTING

The Space theme permits use of a wide range of fixtures to create the ambience required. Ultra violet cannons, beam lights, scanning heads and projectors all play an important role in getting the mood right. Aluminium truss blends perfectly with the theme while providing the support system on which to hang the equipment. Add a dash of haze to the atmosphere some laser lighting and suddenly there is life Jim, but not as we know it!

SOUND

We pre-recorded our own special audio effects that fill the room with an array of intergalactic sounds. Evenly distributed around the venue the system can be effectively used for the band or DJ later in the evening.
