LIGHTING

It is said that all ingredients take equal responsibility when creating a successful event, and good lighting is no exception. The correct lighting, appropriately applied, creates atmosphere and breathes life into the project. Indoors or out, the requirement can be simple ambient illumination or a complex mixture of colour and projected moving images. Whatever the assignment, Theme & Design keep a vast range of fixtures & associated control equipment and will plan with you to create an exciting and effective lighting solution that is appropriate to your needs and budget.

PRO-AUDIO

Paradoxically, it is rare for anyone to compliment an event for its good sound. Lacking the visual spectacle of lighting or set and often ruled by the gurus of techno babble, it’s no wonder that clients’ rarely wish to broach the subject. However, it cannot be emphasised enough how important it is to maintain a natural sound and balance with absolute definition

Constant investment in equipment and an inventory that includes a wide range of professional microphones, mixers, loudspeakers & amplifiers from world-class suppliers helps keep Theme & Design delivering high quality sound reinforcement again and again.

A diverse range of projects has seen us provide engineers and systems for touring road shows, corporate presentations, cabaret bands, and dance promoters at venues in the UK, France, Switzerland and Portugal.

STARCLOTH & DRAPE HIRE

Dramatic, effective, atmospheric, there have been many adjectives used to describe fibre optic starcloth, the black drapes interwoven with light emitting fibres. There is no doubt; they remain one of the most cost effective ways to transform a venue. Theme & Design manufacture and have a considerable hire stock of starcloth and drape allowing even the plainest rooms to be transformed quickly into breathtaking and opulent environments. All drapes and starcloth is DFR (durably flame retardant) to BS5867 Part 2, meeting the minimum requirement expected by most venues.

TRUSS & RIGGING

We stock Litestructures Astralite truss, the world’s largest range of modular aluminium systems. Its versatility allows us to build eye-catching structures from conference & performance stages, through to exhibition stands. As an exhibition tool the system offers a stylish alternative to bland shell schemes that are often difficult to attach lights or equipment to.

Rigging as its name implies is the collective term for all things supported by wires, chains, ropes and of course truss. Because no two projects are the same we hand pick specialist riggers with skills specific to each event. Whatever the application, safety is of paramount importance. All equipment supplied by Theme & Design is tested and certificated in accordance with current legislation and codes of practice.

POWER & DISTRIBUTION

Reliable power is an essential ingredient to any event. The sound, lighting, heating, catering, toilets, all rely upon this unseen element. At Theme & Design we pride ourselves on infrastructures that are both safe and dependable. Whether using the house supply or silent running generators, all our work is carried out to the highest standards, guaranteeing you complete confidence and peace of mind. In addition to entertainment lighting (see Lighting section) we also provide backup and emergency lighting, outdoor flood & site lighting and architectural illumination.

STAGING & DANCE FLOOR

From a basic product launch platform to a multi-level tiered structure for an entire orchestra, our modular system offers complete flexibility in any application. Carpeted or non-slip surfaces are available and because of its lightweight design it can be assembled rapidly and efficiently. We can also provide covered outdoor stage systems that are easily adapted to suit individual requirements. As with all our structural work, safety is foremost in our minds. Where appropriate, handrails, steps and fall arresters are installed. The system also meets current British and European safety regulations relating to temporary structures.

DANCE FLOOR

Whether you fancy black and white chequer design to compliment a Hollywood theme party or traditional parquet for a Charity Ball, Theme & Design can provide it. Our dance floors utilise a unique interlocking design that ensures a flat reliable surface that will not separate during service. It also permits quick assembly with a 12’ x 12’ floor typically laid by one person in around 9 minutes!
